The Open Science Discovery offers an introduction to Open Science as a way to make research outputs available at different stages of the research process. The training combines the expertise of KU Leuven researchers who draw on their own experience with Open Science and the extensive knowledge of research support staff. Through a combination of practical examples and expert guidance, participants will gain valuable insights into how Open Science can enhance and support their own research.
This year’s programme focuses on two key themes. The first theme, scholarly communication, explores current publication practices and introduces the rights retention strategy as a practical approach to managing copyright. The second theme addresses the ethics of data sharing. This part will include a reflection on the opportunities and challenges of data sharing and reuse in the age of AI.

- Preregistration workshop: afternoon (exact schedule will follow)
- Where: Hybrid (on-site sessions at Campus Gasthuisberg)
- For who: Training targeted at PhD researchers, but other researchers and support staff are welcome. No prior knowledge necessary.
